No matter the stage your project is in, LoveBug Studios
can help you finish it. Some quilters only enjoy certain aspects of
quilting and not others - if you enjoy making quilt tops but not the
actual quilting, or vice versa, we can help. Perhaps you started a quilt
that is now too large and unruly to handle - we have the equipment to
get you over that hump.
Do you love to quilt, but hate making quilt tops?
Then this finishing service is for you.
Send us your fabric and/or blocks and a copy of the
pattern you were using, and we will assemble the quilt top and add borders
to bring it up to the correct size. Your finished quilt top will be
returned to you for layering and basting, or we can do the layering
and basting for you.
There are so many variations of quilts that it is
not possible to provide exact pricing until we know more about your
project. See our price list for details.
Is your quilt too large for your space? Send it to
LoveBug Studios! You provide your top and backing fabric, and we will
add batting and create an expertly layered & basted quilt sandwich
for you to finish quilting, either by hand or by machine. Please make
sure your backing fabric extends 3-4" on ALL sides. See our price
list for details.
We can machine quilt your creation (maximum 110"
x 120") with all-over designs or simple stitch-in-the-ditch. Pricing
is set by the square inch and by style. See our price
list for details.
If you purchased a quilt kit from LoveBug Studios,
and need help assembling the blocks into a finished quilt, simply return
the kit with your decorated blocks and we will finish the quilt for
you.
Based on the kit you selected, your blocks will be
assembled into a complete handmade quilt, including borders, batting,
backing, and binding. There is a flat fee for finishing. See our price
list for details.
Standard quilting is stitch-in-the-ditch so as not
to interfere with the embellishments. If you wish to incorporate optional
photos, you may send them along with your blocks, or send digital copies
to photos@lovebugstudios.com.
Please see the instructions included in your kit on preparing your photos
for incorporation into your quilt.
At LoveBug Studios, we believe that quilts were meant
to be used, so we use every available technique to insure that your
quilt is completely washable, and that it will give you decades of enjoyment.
Our process includes:
- Permanently affixing all embellishments
- Incorporating optional photos using a colorfast,
non-destructive photo process
- Arranging and sewing blocks into the pre-determined
layout
- Selecting and sewing a coordinating border to frame
the blocks and bring the quilt up to size
- Layering and basting the quilt with a coordinating
backing fabric and selected batting
- Machine quilting or hand-tying the layers securely
- Binding the edges with a durable, double-fold French
binding to enclose the seams
- Attaching a quilt label with care instructions
to the back of the quilt
