Things have been so busy around here, that I haven’t had time to post about some of the things I’ve been doing in the spaces between larger projects. So here’s a little peek into those spaces (not in any particular order)!
Long Arm Quilting: Kelly #6 & Carol #20
I’ve been trying to meet my friend’s challenge to finish 3 quilts in 4 (non-consecutive) days, and I just accomplished it – although not with the quilts originally on the list.
Making a Custom Diaper Bag
A while back, perhaps in May or June, a woman at work spotted one of my handbags, and asked if I could make a diaper bag for her daughter, in time for the baby shower. I agreed, then promptly forgot about it. Until she reminded me about the baby shower on the 2nd of November. Yikes!
Long Arm Quilting: Clara #27 T-Shirt Quilt
Ordinarily, I do not like t-shirt quilts. I would not naturally choose to make them or quilt them, but for an opportunity to say that I did something once, I agreed to quilt this one as part of my “free quilting” experiment.
Long Arm Quilting: Pat #19
My friend WenR came over the other day and gave me a challenge: quilt 3 quilts in 4 days. Luckily, the days don’t have to be consecutive, but it gave me enough of a challenge & motivation to load up this quilt and get cracking!
Another Thread Obsession: Designing for Aurifil

Henry Wedding Quilt: Quilting Begins with the First Stitch…
Here’s the Henry Wedding Quilt getting loaded on the frame: The quilt is about 84″ square – it’s supposed to finish at around 80″, but whenever I do a wholecloth quilt, I size it larger than needed because I know the quilting will cause it to lose a couple of inches. The quilting pattern is a pantograph called Chantilly Lace – it’s a beautiful open design, and I think it’s perfect for these wedding quilts. I suppose if I’m going to have a signature quilt, I should have a signature quilting design! Well, the only catch there is that this isn’t my pantograph design. Maybe one day.
